TALO started in a college apartment in Kansas, where two brothers were living the typical college lifestyle, eating cafeteria food, drinking on weekends, and cooking with whatever cheap oil was on hand.
We didn't think much of it until we both realized we felt terrible.
Low energy. Weight gain. Just… off.
So we started making changes. Working out. Eating better. And one of the biggest shifts? Swapping the oils we cooked with for something more real.
Beef tallow.
At first, it wasn't even about health, it was about how the food tasted. Steaks seared better. Fries were lighter. Everything just felt right, like we were cooking the way our grandparents did.
That's when we had the idea: what if we could bring this back to kitchens across America?
We partnered with small family farms in Wisconsin, farms raising grass-fed, grass-finished cattle the right way. We designed a jar that's short and wide so you can actually scoop from it easily. And we kept it simple: one ingredient, made in America, no compromises.
TALO isn't about extremes or fear.
We still enjoy life. We're not perfect. But when we're in our own kitchens, this is what we reach for.
